PRAIA DO MEDÃO / SUPERTUBOS
The Supertubos beach is famous worldwide for its tubular waves, they say – the best “tubes” in European seas. The beach is on the south of Peniche Peninsula, is protected from the north wind by the east mole of the harbor. In 2011, the year that the World Surf League arrived to the fine sands of Peniche, the beach has gained worldwide recognition.
Due to this phenomenon, hostels, guest houses and surf camps have increased.
PRAIA DO PORTO DE AREIA SUL
Located halfway to Cape Carvoeiro, the second westernmost cape in Europe, to whom it comes from the center of Peniche, passing through the canned fish factories, the beach with a small shore and crystal clear waters, is protected from both sides, making the ripples calmer.

PRAIA DA GAMBOA
Gamboa Beach is close to the walls of Peniche, an important cultural heritage of the town and it stays by a dune system with great environmental value. With crystalline sea and fine white sand, where you can rest and bring your children safely.
Like all the beaches described in our article, Gamboa beach counts with several facilities and has the presence of a lifeguard.
PRAIA DO BALEAL CAMPISMO
As the name indicates this beach is in the wake of the Baleal Camping Park, situated between Peniche and the “island” of Baleal Beach. Great for surfing, has a considerable extension of sand and also allows to go to the baths comfortably.
Here, you will find good infrastructures and lifeguard, but above all you will discover a beach that invites you to some good dives and long contemplative walks in the extended shore.
At night, the beach gains new life and joy, ideal for those who want to have fun after a retempering beach day.
PRAIA DO BALEAL NORTE
The Beach of Baleal (the name derives from the word whale) or “lagide”, known for the big rocks similar to slabs that, in low tide, show in all their beauty, is a real challenge for surfers that seek this beach due to its imposing waves.
With an expressive extension of sand, this is one of the many beaches of the coast of Peniche with a very particular natural beauty. The surrounding scenery is a mixture of dwellings and fields. Baleal beach is perfect for a relaxing day on the beach and if you have the opportunity do not miss the fantastic sunset.
PRAIA DA CONSOLAÇÃO
Consolação Beach is near the city of Peniche, with excellent therapeutic conditions due to the accumulated of iodine. The south side, has some slab-shaped rocks, is sought by people who want sunbathing’s and the good airs that involves the beach.
In contrast, the northern part, presents a completely different landscape, embellished by an impressive shore that continues for various kilometers towards Peniche.
The beach, with a rough sea, has a bar and lifeguard.
PRAIA DO MOLHE LESTE
The Beach of the Molhe Leste is next to Supertubes Beach and is sought by surf lovers, always on demand for the best wave.
Near the beach there are several facilities and lifeguard. The beach owes its name to the pier that we can find at the beach.
PENICHE DE COVA DE ALFARROBA
Supported by wood fences that allow a better vegetation growth, the dune system is in full recovery, which constitutes a great beauty and greater natural importance to the beach.
Most frequented by local fishermen and lovers of water sports, Cova de Alfarroba is above all a family friendly beach.
PRAIA DE PENICHE DE CIMA
Situated between the Gamboa Beach and the Cova da Alfarroba, this beach is graced by a long shore and is bounded by a pier, in the northwest side. In the east area, we can see wooden fences allowing the dune system recovery, a fundamental element for the beautiful natural heritage that this beach provides.
Known for the serene sea waters, the beach is perfect for refreshing baths or for a restful walk by the seaside.
PRAIA DO BALEAL SUL
About 5km to the northeast of Peniche, the Beach of Baleal is separated from the mainland by a sandbar, with a marvelous beach of white fine sand and significant sea, and then continues in a huge bay in direction to Peniche .
The fantastic Beach of Baleal is very clean and popular with families and also surfers. Here you can find several beach bars and surf schools, along with a coast suitable for all tastes, this makes Baleal one of the most desirable beaches in the region. In summer the beach has a lifeguard.
PRAIA DE SÃO BERNARDINO
The Beach of São Bernardino stays outside the city of Peniche, located in a built up area and sheltered by a cliff, has an extensive stretch of sands, combines the beauty of the sea with the peaceful landscape of natural surrounding vegetation.
A great beach for a restful vacation, with an easy access, a lifeguard and counts with several support facilities. We emphasize that besides the beach of San Bernardino, there is also the Beach of the Frades.
